The daily brief is a morning email each teammate can get on weekdays, laying out their tasks and yesterday's wins before they open BrokerPlus. Open Team Settings from the Team page to write it. Note the split up front: the wording is the broker's to set for everyone, while the hour it arrives and whether it arrives at all is each person's own call.
When You'd Use This
Set this up once when standing up a team, and return to it whenever your team's morning routine changes: a new teammate joins and needs the brief tailored to their role, someone wants their own copy to read differently, or a teammate wants it earlier, later, or off entirely.
What the Brief Contains
Six blocks make up the brief, and any can be switched off: an Intro you write, In the Market (bond yields, policy rates and the next Bank of Canada decision), Closings (every file closing today or in the next seven days), Your Upcoming Tasks (each teammate's own tasks, bucketed by when due), a Closing signoff you write, and a Signature with name, title and headshot. If every block ends up off, the brief isn't sent empty - it's suppressed entirely.
Editing the Team Template
Only the team's broker can click Edit Template. The intro and outro are plain text, up to 1,000 characters each, and you can drop in tokens like {{recipient.firstName}}, {{broker.title}}, or {{team.name}} that fill in per teammate when the brief sends. A live preview updates as you type, so what you see is what goes out. Reset to Default puts the shipped intro and outro back.
Choosing Who Receives It
The Who Receives It panel lists your whole roster with a switch beside each name, and the count updates as you flip them. Eligibility is only half the answer: a teammate who muted the brief shows as off even if switched on, and that half is theirs alone to reverse.
Writing One Person a Different Brief
Click the pencil next to any teammate's name to open their own version of the brief instead of the team's. Anything left alone keeps following the team template, even after you change it later; anything edited for that person becomes theirs from then on, and shows a Customized chip so it's obvious at a glance. Reset to team default clears their overrides and puts them back on the standard brief.
Choosing Your Own Hour, or Muting It
Every teammate, including the broker, picks the hour their brief arrives, from 5 AM to noon in their own timezone, next to their row in the roster. Muting it is separate and lives in each person's own notification settings rather than on the broker's screen - the same preference either way, so the two surfaces never disagree about whether someone wants it.
Common Gotchas
A teammate who says they never get the brief is almost always muted on their end, not left off the roster, since a personal mute overrides an enabled switch every time. A customized brief only diverges on fields actually touched: saving without changing a field resets it back to the team template, the intended way to undo a one-off edit.
