What Pulse Does

Understand the automations hub before you build anything in it.

Open Pulse in BrokerPlus

Pulse is where BrokerPlus reaches out to your clients without you doing it by hand. You describe the moment that should trigger it, the message or task it sends, and whether it goes out on its own or waits for approval. It then runs in the background, holding anything worth reviewing in a queue instead of sending blind.

When You'd Use This

Start here before you build anything in Pulse - a renewal reminder, an equity update, or a one-off campaign. This article maps the hub: what the three sections are for, where you build, and what keeps a new automation from surprising a client before it's proven itself.

The Three Sections

Pulse holds three genuinely different products, each with its own space so you never read past the other two.

Automations is the default section and the one this Academy focuses on: outreach the engine raises on its own, off a date (a mortgage anniversary, a renewal coming up) or a pipeline event (a deal moving stage, a tag added, a new lead). Inside it, Create is where you build, Library lists your team's automations, and Activity shows what's run or coming up.

Campaigns is outreach you build and send by hand to a list of contacts, rather than something the engine raises on a schedule. Reports covers the recurring equity updates that go out to clients on a cadence.

Each section carries its own settings and activity log, so working one never drags in noise from the others.

The Canvas Is Where You Build

There is no separate advanced mode to switch on. The canvas is Create itself: describe the moment, add the steps, set the timing - it draws every automation, whether started blank or from your Library. If you're new to this, Build Your First Automation walks the canvas end to end, and Turn On A Starter Automation is faster when a ready-made one already fits.

Every message step carries its own delivery choice: Draft for review holds it in your queue until approved, and Send automatically goes out on the day. Nothing is forced into one or the other, so you can start cautious and loosen it once you trust what an automation produces.

Test Mode Is Your Safety Net

Before turning a new automation loose on real clients, Pulse settings has a Test Mode switch that redirects every message to you instead: emails to your primary address, texts to your mobile, nothing to anyone else on your team's real deals. It covers your whole team, not just your own automations, so a colleague's file stays safe too. See Hold Everything In Read-Only Mode for how it works and what it does and doesn't cover.

What To Watch Out For

A brand-new automation is created switched off, whichever editor you built it in, so nothing fires until you turn it on yourself - describing an automation and arming it are two separate decisions.

Date-based automations like birthday and anniversary outreach behave differently: Test Mode doesn't hold them, so double-check their delivery setting directly rather than assuming the safety switch covers them.

Campaigns and reports don't inherit the automations section's settings sheet: sender identity for campaigns lives on the campaign view itself, and report controls sit beside the report tabs rather than behind a gear icon.
