Most clients of one kind need the same paperwork. A self-employed borrower in Ontario needs the same notices of assessment, T1 generals and business statements every time. A package saves that list once so you are not ticking the same documents on every deal.
Find a Document in the Library
Client Requests opens on the Doc Library, every document you can ask a client for, grouped by category. It holds the documents BrokerPlus ships and any your team added with New Document. The chips above the grid narrow it to Favourites, My Documents or one category, and the search box matches a name or its note. Hover a card to star it or open its pencil to rename it, move it to another category, or add a note the client sees. Only your team sees these changes.
Create a Package
- In Client Requests, switch to Packages and choose New Package.
- Give it a name, such as "Self-Employed Ontario".
- Tick the documents it should hold. The list is the same library, with your own documents and the same filters, so anything your team added can go in a package.
- Optionally write a note under any document, such as "2024 and 2025, both pages". That note becomes the line your client reads under that document.
- Choose Create Package.
Packages belong to your team, so a teammate sees and can use every package you build.
Edit or Delete a Package
Open a package's pencil to rename it or change its documents. Delete asks once more before it goes. Deleting or editing a package never changes a request already sent, because a request keeps its own copy of the documents it asked for.
If your team removes one of its own documents from the library, that document quietly drops out of any package that held it.
Use a Package on a Request
On a deal, open New request. Your packages sit above the document list under Add a package. Choosing one ticks all of its documents, and the chip fills in while they are all still ticked. On Review Package, the notes you saved with the package are already written under those documents. Change any of them for this client, and the package itself stays as it was. A note you already typed on this request is kept rather than replaced. After that it is an ordinary request: untick anything this client does not need, tick a few more, or add something under Something else. Choose the package again to untick its documents if you picked the wrong one.
What to Do Next
- Send a Client a Request for Documents to put a package to work on a live deal.
- Set What a Client Sees on Each Item to adjust the wording a client reads under each document.
