The link every client uses to start an application is normally minted for them, one at a time. A public intake link is the other case: one address you turn on once, and anyone who opens it can start applying with you, no invitation required.
Turn the Link On
In Client Requests settings, switch on Let anyone start a client intake. BrokerPlus mints one permanent address the first time you do this. Paste it into your email signature, your website, or a social profile, and it keeps working indefinitely. Turning the switch off later does not throw the address away: it stays reserved, so a copy someone already saved starts working again the moment you turn it back on.
Copy It From the Intake Menu
Once the link is on, you rarely need to reopen settings to grab it. The Intake menu on the Requests page offers Copy intake link directly, alongside View sample intake, which shows you exactly what a stranger sees before you send them there.
What Someone Sees When They Open It
Anyone who opens the link lands on a page carrying your name, your logo, and your firm's colors, not a generic BrokerPlus screen. It invites them to start their application and asks for a first and last name, an email, and an optional phone number, behind a bot check. There is no sign-in and no account to create, because nobody who opens this link is a client yet.
Where the New Client Lands
Submitting the form checks the email against your book first. Someone you already work with continues as themselves. Someone new is created as a lead and placed on your Requests board under the intake stage, and you get a notification the moment they start. Either way, the person who filled in the form is taken straight into the full application, saved as they go, on the same link if they need to come back to finish it.
A link claimed by someone who already belongs to another team or broker in your firm is refused rather than quietly reassigned, so a lead never lands with the wrong person on a shared brokerage.
Turning the Link Off
Switching it off stops the page from accepting new starts immediately. It does not expire the address or hand it to anyone else: it is simply off until you decide to turn it back on, and the same link resumes working exactly where it left off.
What to Do Next
- Set Up the Client Application to shape what this link's form actually asks for.
- Read what a client sees across every step of a request, once that article is written.
- Send a Client Request for Documents once someone from this link is a live client on a deal.
