Send a Document for Signature

Add a document that needs signing to a request, place the fields, and track it to signed.

Open Client Requests in BrokerPlus

A signing request is a real document with fields placed on it, not just an upload-and-sign step. Setting one up takes a few extra minutes, and it is what lets BrokerPlus track it to signed on its own.

Add a Signing Document

When you are building a request, choose "Something else" from the request library and pick Signing document as the kind. Give it a short label, the same way you would for any custom document or information ask, and it joins the rest of what you are staging for that round.

Upload the PDF and Place Fields

Drop in the PDF you need signed, or click to browse for it. BrokerPlus can try to find its fields for you, for a form with real fillable fields or with a first pass over a plain scan, and a banner offers to import what it found so you only have to review it. Otherwise, place each field yourself by clicking or dragging on the page: a signature, initials, a date, a line of text, or a checkbox. A field can repeat on every page of a long document instead of being placed one by one.

The document cannot be sent for signature until every signer has at least one signature field somewhere on it, and any field a broker still owes a value gets flagged before it goes out.

Name the Signers

Every signing document starts with one signer, the borrower, resolved from the contact the request is going to. Add more signers when the document needs another name on it, a co-applicant, a spouse who is not otherwise on the file, or you yourself as the broker, and give each one a label. A signer's email can come from the contact itself, from your own profile, or from an answer already captured elsewhere on the application, like a co-applicant's address collected as a separate field. Once you have named your signers, assign each field on the document to whichever of them is meant to complete it.

What the Client Sees

Your client signs from inside their own request, with the document open for review right there rather than downloaded to a separate app. A request with more than one signing document gets its own tab per document, so nothing is confused for something else. If somebody else still has to sign after them, they are told who and shown whether that person has signed yet. Add a short video walkthrough link if you want your client to watch something before they sign, and its message shows right above the document.

Where the Signed Copy Lands

Once every signer has completed their part, the finished document is saved straight onto the deal as its own record, so it sits with everything else on the file rather than off in a separate inbox. You get a live update the moment it lands, on top of a confirmation email. Track each signing item's status, sent or signed, from the same place you sent the request.
