Claim a Phone Number

BrokerPlus Phone is optional. Claim a Canadian business number when you want calls, texts, voicemail, and follow-up inside BrokerPlus.

Claim and Route a Number

1. Open Phone and search a three-digit Canadian area code.
2. Choose and claim one available number.
3. Optionally set Forward calls to and configure Business hours.
4. Review Record calls, Voicemail, Missed call alerts, and the receptionist settings.

During business hours, an active BrokerPlus browser and the forwarding cell ring at the same time. The first answer wins. Outside business hours, the cell is not rung, but an active browser or the configured receptionist can still answer before voicemail.

Configure the Receptionist

Choose the coverage that fits your workflow:

• Off
• After hours only
• When I don't answer
• Always answer

The receptionist can gather context, book a callback, and warm-transfer a call. It does not quote rates or provide mortgage advice.

Handle Calls and Texts

Open Phone > Calls or Phone > Texts, then choose New call or New text. Filter calls by All, Missed, Voicemails, Answered, or the receptionist's own log.

A call detail can include a summary, recording or voicemail, transcript, extracted details, and follow-up tasks.

Keep Browser Calling Available

Browser calling requires HTTPS and microphone permission.

• Hiding the tab stops new presence heartbeats immediately.
• A visible tab stops heartbeats after about two minutes without keyboard, pointer, or scroll activity.
• The browser remains eligible only until the last server-side presence window expires.
• An active call keeps presence alive even when you are not interacting with the page.

Return to the visible tab and interact with BrokerPlus before relying on the browser to ring.

Show Your Business Name When You Call

Under Phone > Settings > Number, type a name in Caller ID Name and choose Save. It is the name the person you call may see beside your number, like your business name.

• Up to 15 letters, numbers, or spaces. It is saved in capitals, because that is how phones show it.
• It goes out with your next call.
• Whether it appears is up to the carrier of the person you call. Some phones show it, and some show only the number.

To stop showing a name, clear the box and choose Remove.
