BusinessSet Your Default Commission

Set Your Default Commission

Record the finder fee BrokerPlus assumes on a deal with no rate of its own, and switch on the other income streams you earn.

Complete both setup areas before relying on revenue estimates or assigning regulated work. Commission settings belong to the workspace. Licence class and provinces belong to the individual broker.

Record How You Get Paid

Setting a default finder fee, then overriding basis points for one product or lender.

Open the Commission item in Get Started, or go to Business > Setup.

  1. Enter the default finder fee percentage used when a deal does not have its own rate.
  2. Turn on every additional income stream you use: volume or efficiency bonuses, insurance or MPP, broker fees, and other income.
  3. Select Save commission setup.

A switch that is off removes that section from the commission area on deals. A blank or zero finder fee does not create a useful default revenue estimate.

Compare Published Product Compensation

Under Lender Compensation, Published Product Compensation lists the lenders and named products in the Lender Spotlight feed. Search by lender or product, then expand a lender to compare its mortgage rates and base finder fees in basis points. Volume, efficiency, and trailing compensation appear separately because bonuses can depend on your agreement or eligibility.

The Powered by Lender Spotlight mark identifies the published figures. A dash means no positive figure was published, not a guaranteed zero payout. A lender without products stays listed with an explanation. If the feed is unavailable, select Try Again; your saved agreements remain available below.

Your Compensation Overrides keeps your existing lender and term-based agreements separate from the published product list. Browsing the feed does not replace your saved figures or assign an exact product to an imported deal.

How Funded Deals Are Priced

Every funded deal in your book has a commission, including deals that arrived through Finmo, Velocity, or a spreadsheet import. When nobody has entered one, BrokerPlus estimates it so your funded volume, deal mix, and finances stay complete.

The estimate uses the first rate it can find, in this order:

  1. The lender's published compensation, when every product at that lender and term pays the same rate.
  2. Your override for that lender and product.
  3. Your override for that lender.
  4. The default finder fee above.

An estimate follows your setup. Change the default or an override and every untouched estimate updates within a minute. A deal where you entered the commission yourself keeps your figure.

Add Your Licence Class and Provinces

Watch Mandric set a licence class and provinces

Choosing a licence class and the provinces that decide which deals reach you.

Go to Settings > Profile and find Licences.

  1. Select every province you are licensed in.
  2. In each province's section, choose your class and enter the expiry and licence numbers.
  3. Wait for the On file confirmation.

BrokerPlus needs at least one province with a class before the licence setup item is complete. I'm Not Licensed is a complete answer and does not require a province. Assistants and underwriters do not see this card because they do not present mortgages.

Each province is its own licence

A deal uses the class, expiry and numbers for the province its property is in. See Record Your Licence Details for how each field is used.
