The receptionist picks up your BrokerPlus line when you can't, greets the caller, asks a few questions, and either books a callback on your calendar or hands the call to a real person. It needs an active number first, and it stays off until you turn it on.

5:07When You'd Use This
Use it for the hours you're not answering: overnight, between showings, or any time you'd rather a caller reach someone than voicemail. It's not a replacement for you on every call, it's coverage for the calls you'd otherwise miss entirely.
Choose When It Answers
Under How it answers, pick a mode: Off, After hours only, When I don't answer, or Always answer. After hours only picks up outside your business hours and leaves live calls during them to you; when I don't answer only steps in once a call goes unanswered; always answer takes every inbound call on the line. Each mode also sets the voice callers hear, chosen the same way as the recording notice's voice, with a sample you can play before saving.
Write the Greeting and Your Instructions
Greeting is the line it opens with, up to 600 characters, for example something like "Thanks for calling Alex at BrokerPlus Mortgages, I can take down a few details and get a meeting on the books." Instructions (up to 2,000 characters) tell it how to qualify a caller, for instance to ask about their timeline or whether they already have a property in mind. It always states on every call that it's an automated assistant and that the call is recorded, ahead of your greeting, and that disclosure can't be turned off. It gathers context and books a meeting, but it never quotes rates or gives mortgage advice.
Callbacks and the Escalation Number
Callback length sets how long a slot it offers, from 15 minutes to an hour, and it only offers openings inside your business hours that aren't already on your calendar. Escalation number is where a live caller gets warm-transferred if they need a person right now rather than a callback; leave it blank and it falls back to your forwarding number.
Read What It Captured
A call the receptionist handled shows up in Phone > Calls like any other, marked with its own icon. Open it to see the transcript with the receptionist's turns labeled separately from the caller's, along with whatever it captured and any callback it booked.
When the Receptionist Is Not Available
If your number's area code is a Quebec one, the receptionist is unavailable for that line, whatever mode you set it to. This is to meet Quebec's Bill 96, which requires the receptionist to serve callers in French, and today it only speaks English, so it stays off for Quebec numbers rather than answering in the wrong language. There's no workaround from the settings page; a broker calling in on a Quebec number sees the mode switch and the rest of the card, but the notice above it explains why nothing answers.
