Phone & TextsTexts Your Assistant Writes

Texts Your Assistant Writes

Decide whether an automation drafts a text for you to approve, or never writes one at all.

When an automation calls for a text, your assistant can either write a draft for you to review, or never write one at all. Either way, nothing is sent without you.

Which Texts This Covers

This setting only covers texts an automation writes on your behalf, the kind triggered by a rule, a stage change, or a step in a canvas you built. A text you ask your assistant to write yourself, directly in chat, is never affected by it, and it's the same choice whether the automation was set up through a simple trigger or a more advanced canvas.

Draft for Review Against Never Writing

Open Phone > Settings > Texting to choose one of two modes for Texts drafted by an automation:

  • Write it for me to review - your assistant drafts the text and leaves it in your review queue.
  • Don't write them - your assistant never drafts a text for that automation, whatever the automation asks for.

There's no setting that sends a drafted text automatically. Every draft this control produces waits for a person to approve, edit, or reject it before it goes out.

Approve, Edit, or Reject a Draft

A pending draft appears in the relevant conversation under Phone > Texts, with the text already filled in. From there you can:

  • Edit the body before sending, if the wording needs a change.
  • Approve it, which sends it immediately or schedules it if the automation set a send time.
  • Reject it, which discards the draft and records why, so nothing goes out under that automation's name.

A draft nobody has acted on yet sits waiting exactly as written, whether that's minutes or days. It never sends on its own, and a scheduled one you've already approved can still be canceled before its send time arrives.

A Text You Ask For Yourself

Asking your assistant to text someone directly, in a conversation, is a different action from an automation's draft. That request is treated as something you asked for in the moment, not something to hold for review, so it goes out as you'd expect from a direct instruction.

Who Can Change the Setting

Only an Owner or Admin can change the mode. A Solo Broker manages their own line. A Broker/Team Member sees the current setting but can't change it themselves.
