Two of the widgets in your library are plain scratchpads rather than data. One is yours, the other belongs to your whole team, and mixing up which is which is the one mistake worth avoiding here.
The My Notes Scratchpad
My Notes is a private notepad you can add from the widget library, the same rich text editor used on a deal or contact note, without the ability to mention anyone. Whatever you type saves the moment you click away from the widget, and it is attached to that specific widget instance in your layout. If you remove the widget, or reset your layout back to the default, its text goes with it.
The Shared Team Note
Shared Note is one note per team, and everyone on that team reads and writes the same row rather than their own copy. Anyone with a team can mention a teammate in it the way they would on a filed note, though a mention here never sends a notification: it is a scratchpad, not a request for someone's attention. If you run no team, adding this widget shows a plain No Team Yet state instead of an empty note, because there is genuinely nobody to share it with.
Who Can See Each One
My Notes is scoped to you and only you; nobody else on your account, including a principal broker, can open it from their own overview. Shared Note is scoped to your team: everybody on it sees the same words, and there is no way to keep a private line inside the shared note. If you want something only you can see, write it in My Notes instead.
When a Teammate's Edit Appears
The shared note is not live in the sense of updating while you watch. It refetches when you return focus to the tab, which is what makes coming back after a few minutes show whatever a teammate typed while you were away. While you are actively typing, your own edit is what stays on screen: a save that lands mid-keystroke never overwrites what you have since added, and a teammate's incoming edit is held until you are not mid-edit yourself. The line under the editor tells you which state you are in: Saving, Saved, or, once it has settled, who it is shared with and when it was last edited.
