Instead of typing every lender's rate by hand, upload a compensation document and let BrokerPlus read the figures out of it. You review everything it found before anything is saved, and the file itself is never stored.
When You'd Use This
Use this when a lender or your brokerage sends you a compensation agreement, a finder-fee schedule, or a bonus tier table, and you'd rather not transcribe it row by row. It's an admin-only shortcut for the same fields you'd otherwise set by hand.
Uploading The Document
Go to Business > Setup and select Upload From Document on the Commission Setup card.
- Drop a file or click to browse. Accepted formats are PDF, PNG, JPEG, WEBP, and Word (.docx), up to 50MB.
- Select Read Compensation. BrokerPlus extracts a default finder fee, income streams, and a per-lender rate table.
- Nothing is saved yet; you land on a review screen listing every figure it read.
Reviewing What It Found
The review screen groups what was read into sections: your default finder fee, the income streams it turned on, a table of matched lenders, and a section for lenders it couldn't identify. Each row shows the current value next to the proposed one, plus any volume bonus, so you can see exactly what would change.
Every row starts checked, since you already reviewed the document by getting here; the interaction is dropping what's wrong rather than opting into what's right. Click a row to toggle it out.
Matching a Row to the Right Lender
Rows that couldn't be matched to a lender in your registry show under We Couldn't Match These Lenders, with whatever figures were read next to that name. Use the picker on each row to assign it before it can be applied; an unassigned row is skipped.
What Applying Changes
Select Save to write everything still checked in one action: your default finder fee, any income streams the document mentioned (turned on only, never off), and the per-lender table, including product-level rates broken out by term or rate type. A summary confirms what was saved, and every figure lands in the same table you can edit by hand afterward.
This can overwrite a manual entry without warning you
If a lender or product already has a rate you entered by hand in the Lender Compensation table, and the document proposes a different figure for that row, saving replaces it. The review screen crosses out the current value next to the new one, but it's easy to skim past a row you don't recognize and save over an exception you set deliberately. Check the crossed-out figures before you save, especially for any lender you've already customized.
Common Gotchas
- The overwrite risk above is the biggest one: a lender-level upload can silently replace a product-level override you set in Override Commission for a Lender or Product if the document also prices that same lender.
- If BrokerPlus can't read any figures from the file, you'll get an error asking you to try a clearer file or enter the rates by hand.
- A row with a bonus but no finder fee still needs one to apply, so BrokerPlus falls back to that cell's existing value, or your org default, rather than writing a zero that would wipe out revenue estimates.
- The document is never stored, so you'll upload it again to re-read it.
What to Do Next
- Override Commission for a Lender or Product to check what changed, or set a rate by hand.
- Set Your Default Commission if the upload didn't include one.
- Add a Rate Override for a client-facing rate rather than your own compensation.
