The Accounting tab is your record of every journal BrokerPlus has sent to your connected book, what state each one is in, and where your book and BrokerPlus disagree.
What Posts, and When
Go to Business and select the Accounting tab, visible once an admin has connected an accounting system. A commission's money moving, most often a deal being marked funded, is what triggers a posting attempt; nothing posts for a brokerage with no accounting system connected, and nothing posts for a role your admin has not mapped to an account yet. If accounts are still unmapped, a banner at the top of the tab says how many and links back to the mapping screen rather than letting the ledger below look emptier than it is.
Reading a Posting's State
Each posting carries one of four states. Queued means it is waiting its turn. Posted means it reached your connected book. Failed means the provider refused it, with the reason shown under the row. Reversed means a later posting inverted it, kept rather than deleted so the ledger still shows what was actually sent. The three stat tiles at the top of the tab, posted count, failed count and open exceptions, double as filters: select one to narrow the table below it.
Retrying a Failed Posting
A Retry button appears only on a failed posting. Selecting it re-queues the same frozen lines rather than recalculating them, so fixing the cause, a missing mapping, a provider outage, is what a retry needs before it succeeds; retrying without fixing anything just fails again with the same reason.
What an Exception Means
An exception is not a posting state, it is a separate note that your connected book and BrokerPlus have started to disagree: an entry was edited or deleted on the QuickBooks side, a role never got mapped, a split came through invalid, or an authorization is about to expire. The Exceptions panel below the postings table lists these, newest first, and defaults to showing only the open ones. BrokerPlus never rewrites a deal's numbers to match what changed in your book; the deal stays the source of truth, and an exception is the flag that something needs a person's judgment.
Resolving or Ignoring an Exception
An open exception offers two actions. Resolve marks it handled, for when you have reconciled the difference yourself in your accounting system. Ignore marks it closed without claiming it was fixed, for a difference you have decided does not matter. Neither action changes the deal or replays the posting; both simply record that the disagreement has been looked at, and either can carry a note for whoever reads the exception log next.
