Read Your Income by Stream

See which parts of your compensation actually earn, and how often you attach insurance and broker fees.

Open Finances in BrokerPlus

The Income by Stream card on your Finances overview breaks your take-home apart by where it came from: finder's fee, volume bonus, broker fee, MPP, or another commission line, instead of one lump total that hides which parts of the business are actually paying.

When You'd Use This

Use it when you want to know more than "how much did I make" - whether you are leaning on one stream too heavily, or whether you are consistently leaving broker fee and MPP income on the table on deals that could carry it.

What Counts As A Stream

Every stream is computed at read time from the record that actually owns the money: a commission line item, a life insurance application's own commission, or a broker fee charged on the offer a deal actually funded with. Nothing is stored separately, so this card can never drift from the record it reads. Each stream's dollar figure is your take-home, net of splits and fees, not the gross commission the deal generated - the gross and net can differ meaningfully once a split or a buydown is involved.

Reading The Share Bar

The total across all streams sits above a proportional bar, one segment per stream. Hover a segment to see the dollar amount and the number of deals that contributed to it. A stream that never shows up simply has no segment - there is no zero-width placeholder cluttering the bar.

The MPP And Broker Fee Attach Rates

Below the share bar sit two ratios, each measured against your funded deals in the selected period:

  • MPP Attach Rate - the share of funded deals carrying approved mortgage payment protection. A client who was offered MPP and declined it is counted separately as waived, so a compliant refusal never reads as a miss.
  • Broker Fee Attach Rate - the share of funded deals that charged a broker fee, read from the offer the deal actually funded with, not a fee proposed on an offer the client didn't take.

Both rates matter more than the totals above them - they are the coaching number, since they show how consistently you are charging for the compensation you are entitled to, deal after deal.

When A Stream Records Nothing

If nothing has been recorded in the selected period at all, the card says so plainly instead of showing an empty bar. If you have funded deals but never recorded a broker fee or MPP on any of them, a note under the attach rates calls that out directly, so a real gap in your compensation doesn't hide behind a quiet card.
