Every imported row carries a status word from wherever it came from, "Funded," "In Progress," "Ready to Close." BrokerPlus turns each word into a board and column, and remembers the answer for next time.
How a Status Word Becomes a Board and Column
The first time BrokerPlus sees a status word it proposes a placement. Confirming it during review saves the answer as a mapping, keyed to the word and, optionally, a deal type. Later imports check the saved mapping before guessing again.
A mapping can answer for one deal type or every type at once. "Funded, but only for renewals" does not settle what every other type does with "funded," so the two sit side by side, with the type-specific answer winning. A brokerage holds only one every-type answer per word. A mapping you set by hand is never overwritten by a later automatic proposal.
Live, Historical and Stale Deals
A terminal word (funded, closed, declined, cancelled) always means history, whatever its age. A live word (new, in progress, submitted, approved) usually means the active pipeline.
The exception is a live status with no recent activity. A deal still reading "In Progress" with nothing touched in about a year and a half is stale rather than live: it goes to history, in its own Stale column, separate from funded deals. A future renewal or maturity date rescues a deal from stale even when every other date is old. A word BrokerPlus cannot read at all is never guessed; it surfaces in the mapping grid for you.
Choosing Where Each Status Lands During an Import
The review step lists every status word in your file, how many deals carry it, where they will land, and how many are old enough to count as stale. Change any row that looks wrong. Confirming writes each deal accordingly, and the correction also updates your saved answer for future files. Saved Deal Mappings in Settings
Every confirmed mapping lives under Saved Deal Mappings in Settings > Imports & Mappings: the status word, the deal type it applies to (or any), and its board and column. Edit or delete a mapping any time; deleting one returns that word to the automatic rule.
A mapping can go stale itself, if the board or column it names is later archived. Until you repoint it, BrokerPlus quietly falls back to the automatic placement rather than failing an import, which is why that row is flagged.
Adding a Mapping for a New Board
Adding a board for a workflow that did not exist before? Add a mapping rather than waiting for the next import to guess. Pick the status word, the deal type it applies to (or any), and the destination board and column. The picker only offers deal types your book carries under that word, and refuses a mapping that duplicates one you already have.
Refiling Your Whole Book
Editing a mapping only changes future imports, not deals already sitting on a board under the old answer. Refile My Deals, beside Saved Deal Mappings, applies your current mappings to your whole book at once, including deals you moved by hand, which every other remap protects. It previews how many deals would move, stay put, or were hand-touched, before you confirm, and it cannot be undone.
