Every candidate on your Opportunities page cleared a floor before it showed up there. Opportunity Settings is where those floors live: one slider for refinance savings, six number fields deciding who counts as high equity, retirement age, or going cold. Books differ, so BrokerPlus ships defaults and leaves the rest to you.

7:49When You'd Use This
Open Opportunity Settings when your list feels wrong: too many low-value refinance candidates cluttering the top, or a client you know is a strong reverse mortgage or equity access fit who never appears. A rural or lower-value book usually needs lower dollar floors than a downtown Toronto or Vancouver one - adjust to match a "real" opportunity for your clients.
Minimum Monthly Savings To Qualify
This slider sets the refinance floor: only refinance candidates who could save at least this much per month, after penalties and fees, make the Refinance block and clear the savings tier used elsewhere. It runs $0 to $2,000 in $25 steps, and at $0 you see every client who saves anything at all.
This floor is refinance-only - a renewing client has no penalty to break or savings number to weigh.
What The Block Thresholds Control
Four of the ten opportunity blocks read a threshold you set; the other six run fixed logic. Each field clamps to its range on blur, and clearing it restores the default rather than writing a zero, which for an age or equity floor would open the block to your whole book.
| Threshold | Default | What it gates |
|---|---|---|
| Equity access minimum equity | $250,000 | Minimum home equity to appear in the Equity access block ($0 to $5,000,000) |
| Reverse mortgage minimum age | 55 | Minimum age for the Reverse mortgage block; 55 is the statutory floor for a reverse mortgage in Canada (18 to 100) |
| Reverse mortgage minimum equity | $250,000 | Minimum equity for the same block, applied alongside the age floor ($0 to $5,000,000) |
| Move-up ratio | 1.25x (25%+) | How far a client's buying power must exceed their current home's value for the Move-up buyers block (1x to 5x) |
| Going cold after | 45 days | Days since last contact with no reply before a candidate lands in the Going cold block (1 to 365 days) |
| Recently-contacted window | 6 months | How long a contacted candidate is flagged "contacted recently" (0 to 36 months) |
Going Cold And Recently Contacted
These two answer different questions. Going cold after decides when an unanswered client moves into its own block, so someone you reached out to weeks ago with no reply is easy to find. Recently-contacted window doesn't gate a block; it flags a candidate as contacted recently elsewhere on the list, so you don't approach the same person twice. Set it to 0 and the flag never applies.
Common Gotchas
- A threshold change doesn't touch names already on the page; it changes what counts as a match, updating on next refresh.
- Tightening a floor can make a candidate vanish from a block you were about to act on - check the threshold first.
- The move-up ratio reads as a multiple, not a percent: 1.25 means buying power 25% above the current home's value.
- Each field saves immediately; no separate save step.
