Compare Strategies Inside an Opportunity

Model what a client could do beyond a straight switch, and send them the one that fits.

Open Opportunities in BrokerPlus

The Strategy tab looks past a straight switch and asks what else a client could do with the mortgage they already have. It runs on the same strategy engine as the standalone Compare Strategies for a Client calculator, just pre-filled from this candidate's own balance, rate, equity, and debts.

What the Strategy Tab Surfaces

Each strategy the engine evaluates gets a tier: Recommended when the client's numbers confirm it fits, Worth reviewing when it's plausible but unconfirmed, or Depends on client when it needs facts BrokerPlus doesn't have. Every card carries the plain-language idea, the broker-facing explanation of the mechanics, the risks, and a client-ready blurb you can edit before sending.

Strategies Held Back and Why

Not every strategy in the registry is a fit for every client, and the tab only surfaces the ones that plausibly are. The rest sit behind a Show more toggle as remaining strategies, so you can see what the client didn't qualify for and why, without cluttering the main list with ideas that don't apply to them yet.

Changing the Assumptions Behind a Figure

Every projection rests on assumptions you can see and edit from that metric's own info popover: the client's marginal tax rate, the line of credit rate, a low and high investment return, the time horizon, and a few strategy-specific figures like dividend yield or draw rate. Change one and every figure that depends on it recalculates immediately. A reset puts every assumption on a card back to its default in one action.

Educational, not advice

Every strategy carries a disclaimer that it's educational only, not tax, financial, or legal advice, and that BrokerPlus is not a licensed advisor. Point the client to their own accountant or financial planner before they act on one.

The Strategic Exit Chart

For a fixed-rate candidate, the tab charts how the penalty moves over the coming months against three months' interest and the IRD, the same greater-of comparison covered in Read the Rate Analysis. Where the two curves cross gives a recommendation to act now or wait, with the projected rise or fall in the penalty attached, so a strategy conversation about timing an exit has a number behind it rather than a guess.

Sending a Strategy to a Client

Review & send on a card opens the client-facing blurb for you to check before it goes out, so what you send always matches the assumptions currently set on the card. Use it once you've settled on the strategy worth raising, rather than sending every surfaced card at once. If debts or added equity would change which strategy applies, testing a consolidation against the client's other debts, or a look at Read a Client's Equity, is the better next stop before you send.
