Choose the Notifications You Receive

Turn an alert off or add an email copy, from the page the alert is about.

Open Settings in BrokerPlus

BrokerPlus does not collect your notifications on one page. Each alert lives in the settings for the feature it is about, so you turn one off, or add an email copy of it, right where that alert would show up.

There Is No Single Notifications Page

A review alert for a client request lives in Requests. A report-edit alert lives in Pulse. A mention alert lives in Team. There is no master switchboard that lists all of these together, because each one belongs to the surface it describes, and burying it in one long list would only make it harder to find when you actually need it.

Where Each Group of Alerts Sits

  • Client requests: open Requests, choose Settings, then Reminders & Alerts, for review, upload-trouble and submission alerts.
  • Equity reports: open a report from Pulse, choose Settings, then Notifications, for report-edit and enrolment alerts.
  • Tasks: open Tasks, choose Settings, then Reminders, for overdue task reminders, an email for each task as it comes due, and your daily digest.
  • Team mentions: open Team, choose Settings, for email and text alerts when someone tags you in a note.
  • Mail: open Settings, then Email, for what shows on screen the moment new mail arrives.

Your weekly receivables digest lives beside your commission setup under Business rather than with the rest of these.

Mute a Notification

Every notification here is its own switch, and each one starts on unless noted otherwise. Turning one off stops the notification and any in-app alert it would have shown. A few carry a channel underneath them, such as an email copy of a report-edit alert, and that channel disappears with the switch above it: mute the notification and there is nothing left to send an email about.

The one exception is a text alert for a mention, which starts off, since it reaches your personal phone rather than your inbox.

Add an Email or Text Copy

A delivery preference, such as an email copy of a report-edit alert or a self-copy on recurring reports, is not the alert itself but a channel on top of it. Each one starts at the value your brokerage set as its default. Switch it yourself and your choice sticks from then on, and stops moving when your brokerage later changes its own default.

Defaults Your Brokerage Sets

A few switches, such as whether review and upload-trouble alerts fire on client requests at all, belong to your brokerage rather than to you. They sit beside the personal ones in the same settings, but only someone with edit rights can change them, and turning one off there turns it off for your whole team. Review What Runs on Its Own shows how your team's current defaults are set, without opening each editor to check.

On-Screen Alerts

Two settings control what pops up on screen rather than what gets emailed or texted: one on your Profile page for the general notification bell, the other in your inbox's Alerts area for new mail. Both are personal to you and change only what you see, never what gets sent or who else is told.

What to Do Next

  • Review What Runs on Its Own for the full list of what runs automatically, including the alerts covered here.
  • Use Your Inbox to see how mail alerts fit into the rest of your inbox settings.
  • Use find a setting whenever you know the word for a control but not which page holds it.

Keeps track of what you have already been through.
