Use Your Inbox

Read and answer client mail in BrokerPlus with the file, the contact and the history beside it.

Open Email in BrokerPlus

Your connected mailbox reads inside BrokerPlus, with the contact, the deal and the rest of the conversation in a column beside the message. This covers what the list shows, the panel next to a thread, and where each control sits.

What Lands in Your Inbox

The inbox is email. Texts and calls live on the Phone page. After the mailbox has finished its folder reconciliation, Inbox follows your provider’s Inbox. Mail filed elsewhere or moved to Deleted Items in Outlook no longer stays in Inbox here. Spam and Trash follow the provider too. While the first reconciliation runs, the previous view remains available so your mail does not disappear during setup. A conversation also stays out of Inbox while a reminder is pending or it is marked done. Mark a thread done and it leaves for Done; if the client replies afterwards, the thread returns to the inbox rather than staying filed.

Choose Whose Mail You Are Looking At

The picker in the filter row decides which correspondence you are reading: Everyone for the team, Mine for your own, or a single connection under My mailboxes. On a solo account with several mailboxes the first option reads All mail. It is absent when there is nothing to choose between, and your choice carries to the phone log.

When more than one mailbox is connected and you have not narrowed to one, each row also names the mailbox the message landed in.

Folders and Manual Tags

Choose a folder to read mail filed there, even when it is no longer in Inbox. Empty custom folders are hidden; folders whose size is still unknown and parents containing nonempty folders remain visible.

Star a folder to pin it to the top of the folders list and the top of the filing menu. The star is yours alone, so a folder you pin stays pinned for you and changes nothing for anyone else on your team or in your mailbox. A pinned folder is always shown, even when it is empty. Star it again to unpin it.

Tags are manual. Outlook categories are imported, and adding or removing a tag from a conversation carries that change back to Outlook without replacing its other categories. Recent changes arrive on the next sync; older mail is checked during the daily full reconciliation. Existing automatically assigned tags are never exported. Tag descriptions are no longer needed.

Gmail labels are imported as tags, but changing them from BrokerPlus is unavailable for now. The current provider can replace labels across an entire Gmail conversation, so writes are blocked rather than risking labels on other messages. Change Gmail labels in Gmail instead.

A tag attached to synced mail must be removed from those emails before you rename or delete it from the tag list.

The Details Panel Beside a Thread

Open a thread and the Details column carries the Contact card, with Call and Open contact; the Deal card with its stage, loan amount and closing date; Recent conversations with this person; and Personal context, the observations your calls have banked. Under Other deals you can link the conversation to another file. Toggle the column with Show details panel.

Open an Attachment

PDFs and images open in a preview inside BrokerPlus with a Download button. Any other file type downloads when you click it. The bookmark button beside an attachment saves it as a snippet you can reuse.

If an attachment will not open

The file is fetched from your mail provider when you ask for it. If the provider no longer holds the original message, open it in your own email client instead.

Search and Page Through Mail

The search box at the top of the list searches the folder you are in by subject, message body and deal reference number. Results come 50 threads at a time, and page arrows appear beside the box once there is more than one page. Refresh pulls anything that arrived since the list loaded.

Settings sits in the same row, beside Compose. It opens the email settings, where you connect a mailbox, choose which one you send from, and decide what your team sees of it.

Find Unread Messages

Choose Unread beside the tag filters to show only conversations with an unopened incoming message. It works alongside your selected folder, tag, mailbox and search. Reading a conversation removes it from the unread results once the read is saved. Choose Unread again to show read conversations too.

The filter stays selected while you switch mail folders and resets when you reload the page. Drafts and scheduled messages are not filtered by unread status.

What Stays in Your Normal Mail App

Mark done and Remind me are BrokerPlus states, so neither moves anything in your provider mailbox. Folders are the other way round: they belong to your mailbox and appear here after the next sync, so one you delete in Gmail or Outlook stops being offered. Move to trash and Restore still control BrokerPlus’s own copy. An Outlook message in Deleted Items also appears in Trash here. Restoring it in Outlook brings it back after synchronization. Permanently missing provider messages are only hidden after repeated complete inventories, and their stored contents are retained.
