Roam is a separate way for meetings to reach BrokerPlus, alongside whatever your team already uses for meeting notes. It lives on the Integrations settings page, in the card titled Roam, and only a brokerage admin can connect it.
What Connecting Roam Adds
BrokerPlus's built-in notetaker joins a Zoom or Google Meet call as a bot; turn on the meeting notetaker covers calls held on those platforms. Roam works differently: it only transcribes meetings held inside Roam's own meeting rooms, so a Zoom or Meet call never reaches this connection no matter how it is configured. Connect Roam only if your team already holds meetings inside Roam itself.
Once connected, a qualifying meeting's transcript becomes a recap the same way any other recorded meeting does. Read a meeting recap covers what that looks like.
Find Your API Key and Signing Secret
In Roam, open Administration, then Developer, then API Client. Two separate values live there: an API key and a Webhook Signing Secret. Both are required; pasting only one leaves the connection unable to verify anything Roam sends back.
Connect Roam
- Open Integrations in settings and find the Roam card.
- Paste the API key and the Webhook Signing Secret into their fields.
- Choose Connect Roam.
BrokerPlus verifies the key against Roam before saving it, then registers to hear about new transcripts. If Roam reports a problem, such as a missing scope or a subscription it could not register, the card shows it right away rather than after a meeting goes missing. A key that cannot mint meeting links still works for receiving transcripts; links then have to be created inside Roam instead.
One Person's Meetings Against a Workspace
Roam decides how much a key can see by which kind of key it is, and the card only learns that once you connect. An organization key reaches every meeting in the Roam workspace. A personal key reaches only the meetings of the person who created it. The card names which one is active once connected.
By default, only meetings with someone outside your workspace are summarized, leaving internal standups and one-on-ones alone. An admin can turn this off if the brokerage wants every recorded meeting summarized.
When No Meetings Arrive
A connection can verify perfectly and still receive nothing, because Roam only sends a transcript for a meeting its own Magic Minutes feature actually recorded. Magic Minutes and its auto-record setting live inside Roam, not BrokerPlus, so a key that connects cleanly is not proof meetings are being captured.
The card's meeting count and the date of the last one received are the only real evidence of a working connection. If a full day passes after connecting with nothing received, the card flags it and points you to Roam's automatic-record setting for Magic Minutes.
Disconnecting removes the subscriptions on Roam's side too, so a workspace that stops using Roam is not left with a dead endpoint still being called.
What to Do Next
- Turn on the meeting notetaker to cover meetings held on Zoom or Google Meet.
- Read a meeting recap once transcripts start arriving.
- Manage every connection from Connect and Manage Integrations, the settings page this card lives on.
