A contact's page keeps two different records of what has happened with them: notes you write, and an activity timeline BrokerPlus assembles on its own. They live in separate panels for a reason. Use each for what it does well and you never lose the judgment call that only a note can hold.

8:07What a Note Is For
Notes are shared and editable by anyone with write access to the contact. Use one for anything no automatic record ever produces: what you decided on a call, why you're holding off on a follow-up, what to raise next time you speak. Every teammate who can open this record reads the same trail, and deleting a note removes it for everyone, not just you.
Filing a Note Under a Type
A contact note files under a kind: Intro, Call, Goals, or General, the floor that keeps an unsorted note reachable and can't be removed. Choose the kind when you write it, then filter the panel to one kind at a time to skim a long history without scrolling past everything else. Your brokerage can rename or recolor a shipped kind, add its own, or archive one nobody uses anymore from the panel's Note Types button. Archiving doesn't touch the notes already filed under it; they keep their label until nothing live claims that slug.
Pinning, Mentions and Reactions
Pin a note to hold it at the top of the thread no matter when it was written, useful for the one fact a teammate picking up the file should read first. Type @ inside a note to mention a teammate by name and they're notified without either of you leaving the page. Reactions let anyone with access acknowledge a note, a quick nod that they saw it, without adding a reply underneath.
What the Timeline Records on Its Own
Activity is a read-only, newest-first feed BrokerPlus builds automatically: emails and texts sent or received, drafts still pending, material changes to a linked deal, deals linked or unlinked, and referrals. Nobody chooses what lands there, and nobody can add to it by hand. Notes never appear on it, because they have their own panel entirely.
Why the Timeline Cannot Be Edited
Because nobody authored it. Every entry is generated the moment its underlying event happens, a message sends, a deal changes stage, a referral lands, so there's nothing to correct without misrepresenting what actually took place. If an event needs a correction, a caveat, or an opinion attached, that judgment belongs in a note beside it, not inside the record of the event itself.
Finding a Note or an Event Again
Search the notes panel by keyword. A hit anywhere in a thread keeps the whole conversation together, so a reply that mentions what you're looking for still surfaces the question above it. Filter by type first to narrow a long history before you search inside it. Activity has its own filters in its own tab, kept separate from note search because the two are different kinds of record with very different volumes.
