Lead stages are the columns of your Leads board and the options in the stage dropdown on the list view - one vocabulary, so the two views never disagree. Every brokerage starts with the same set and can reshape it freely.
The Stages BrokerPlus Starts You With
A new brokerage starts with New, Contacted, Qualified, Won and Lost. These seed automatically the first time your Leads board loads, and stay in place until you change them; deleting every stage but one still leaves that one behind instead of reseeding the defaults. A lead who submits a shared intake link sits in its own Portal Intake column until it graduates onto a deal board.
Adding a Stage
From the board, use the column at the right edge to name a new stage. From the list view, choosing New Stage from any lead's stage dropdown does the same thing, and assigns that lead to it right away. Stage names must be unique within your brokerage, so BrokerPlus stops you from creating a second stage with a name you already use. Recreating a stage under the exact name of one you deleted earlier revives that same stage rather than starting a fresh one.
Renaming and Recolouring a Stage
Click a stage's name in its column header to rename it in place. Click the colour swatch beside it to cycle through the stage palette, a small set of preset colours shared with referral sources and deal tags elsewhere in BrokerPlus. Both changes apply everywhere the stage appears, on the board and in the list, for every broker on your team.
Reordering Stages
Drag a column to a new position on the board to change where it sits in the pipeline. The list view's dropdown always mirrors that order.
Removing a Stage That Holds Leads
Deleting a stage never deletes the leads sitting in it. Choose where they should land, or leave BrokerPlus to move them to the first remaining stage. A board must keep at least one stage, so the last one cannot be removed.
How Lead Stages Differ From Deal Stages
Lead stages and deal stages are separate systems with separate configuration. A lead moves through your lead stages while it is still an enquiry; once it becomes a deal, it moves onto a board and through that board's own stages instead. Changing one never touches the other. See How Boards, Stages, and Status Fit Together for how deal-side stages work, and Customize a Board's Stages to reshape those.
