8:07Files You Can Upload
Drop a CSV, an Excel file (.xlsx or .xls), a Numbers export, or a phone contact export (.vcf or .vcard) onto Import Contacts from the CRM page. A file can hold up to 5,000 rows and 10MB. A phone export needs no column matching, since each card already names its own fields.
How Columns Are Matched
BrokerPlus matches your file's columns to name, email, phone, company, type, and partner role on its own. A matched column shows as a chip with a checkmark next to the field it landed on. A column it cannot place on that first pass gets a second look, shown with a small sparkle and labelled to say it was matched for you, so a house header like "Referred By" or "Lead Source" can still land correctly. Anything still unrecognized is marked not imported, and its values are dropped rather than guessed at.
Reviewing the Rows Before They Land
Nothing is created until you say so. The review screen lists every row with its name, email, phone, and the type it picked up, and a checkbox to include or exclude it - clicking anywhere on the row toggles it. Rows with nothing to identify a person by, no name, email, phone, or company, are skipped automatically and counted separately, so a shrinking row count is never a silent surprise. If the file claims relationships between people, such as a referral link, a summary counts how many will connect to a contact already in the file or already in your book, and names any it could not match so you can fix the spelling and try again - that link is simply skipped rather than guessed at.
What Happens to Contacts That Already Exist
Every row is checked against your book by email before anything is created. A match is left exactly as it is rather than duplicated, and counted separately as already existing so you can see how much of the file was genuinely new. This is the same matching a later re-import relies on, so uploading the same list twice never doubles your book.
Importing Deals Instead
This import only creates and matches contact records - it never opens a deal. If what you are uploading is a book of mortgages rather than a contact list, use Import Your Book From a Spreadsheet instead, which reviews its own column mapping and skipped rows the same way.
