Record Who Referred a Contact

Name the person who sent a contact your way, follow the referral's status, and see everyone a partner has referred.

Open Contacts in BrokerPlus

Every contact who came to you through someone else can carry that connection on their profile. Recording it once keeps a running account of who is sending you business and how those introductions are turning out.

Setting a Referrer

Name a referrer when you add a new contact, or any time afterward from the Referred By section of their profile. Open Set Referrer, search by name, company, email or phone, and pick the person who sent them your way. If the referrer is not in your CRM yet, add them from the same search box. A contact carries only one referrer at a time; picking a new one replaces the old, and you can remove a referrer entirely if it was set in error.

How the Source Is Filled In

BrokerPlus fills in what kind of referral this is from what your CRM already knows about the referrer. A realtor, lawyer, financial planner, insurance partner or builder carries that label straight across. Anyone else already marked as a partner is recorded as a partner referral, and a contact marked as a client is recorded as a past client referral. Change the source by hand when none of those fit.

Reading the Referral Status

The referral shows a status chip beside the referrer's name: Received, Contacted, In Progress, Funded or Dead. This tracks how far the referred contact has moved since the introduction, not the referrer's own history, so it stays meaningful even for a referral that never becomes a deal.

Referrals They Have Sent

Open a partner's own profile to see everyone they have referred to you. The Referrals They've Sent section totals how many people they have sent, how many of those deals funded, and the funded volume, then lists each referred contact with its own status chip and funded amount where there is one. This section only appears once a partner has sent at least one referral.

Where Referrals Appear Elsewhere

A referral you set also shows on the contact's Activity timeline and feeds that partner's figures on the Referral Partners page, where both what they have sent you and what you have sent them are tracked side by side. Keeping a contact's type and partner role current is what lets BrokerPlus fill in the source automatically, so set those on the contact record itself.
