The rate feed carries far more lenders than any one broker actually places with. Favouriting and archiving on the Rates page (Tools > Rates) is how you shape that full list into the one you actually work from, and the shaping follows you into every other screen that lists lenders, not just this grid.
Marking a Favourite
Click the star beside a lender's name to favourite it. Favourites are the lenders you place with regularly, and the star travels with the lender wherever it appears - including the lender picker inside a deal and the lender comparison view, where a favourited lender floats to the top of its section instead of sitting wherever the rate ranking would otherwise put it.
Archiving a Lender
Click the archive icon on a lender's row to move it out of your working list. Archiving is for a lender you never place with - a shop outside your licensing territory, or one you simply don't use - so it stops cluttering the grid you check every day. Archived lenders collapse into their own section at the bottom of the page rather than disappearing outright, so nothing is ever lost.
What Archiving Changes
Archiving isn't cosmetic to the rates grid alone. An archived lender is excluded from lender recommendations and from the penalty calculator, and it drops out of the lender comparison shown while working a deal - the same list a favourite gets promoted within. Archive a lender you genuinely never place with; if you only want it out of your day-to-day view without touching what the product recommends elsewhere, leave it favourited or unfavourited instead and simply skip past it.
Filing a Lender by Type
Open any lender's details to set its type - A-Lender, Alt / B-Lender, Private / MIC, or Reverse Mortgage - independent of favouriting or archiving. This is the same classification a custom lender gets when you add one, and it's what your rate matching rules and reporting use to group lenders sensibly, so it's worth setting even on a lender you rarely place with. A lender with no type set is simply uncategorized until you open its details and pick one.
Bringing an Archived Lender Back
Expand the archived section at the bottom of the page and click the unarchive icon on the lender you want back. It returns to the main grid immediately, with its rates, offset, and any note it carried untouched from before you archived it - archiving never discards data, it only sets the lender aside.
