Deal Defender needs a filled-in strategy board first. Build one at Compare Strategies for a Client, then open Activate Deal Defender from that board's toolbar.
What Deal Defender Writes
BrokerPlus drafts a four-part note arguing your recommendation: the bottom line in dollars, why it beats the client's existing offer, why the recommended product stands on its own, and what to watch, the recommended product's own costs and restrictions.
Every sentence is backed by evidence. Hover a highlighted sentence, or rest your cursor inside one, to see whether it is calculated from the numbers on the board, sourced from a lender's own published document with the quoted line and a link, or something you typed in yourself. The note is a draft: you read it, edit it like any other text, and send it as your own.
What the Board Needs First
Fill in the strategy board before opening Deal Defender. It needs at least two options, each carrying a named lender, before it can compare anything; the product field is optional, and an option still at its seed values does not count.
Activate Deal Defender stays disabled with a hint until two options qualify. Once you click Write the note, generation streams through four visible stages, reading lender documents, pricing the comparison, writing the note, and finishing up, before it is ready, typically ten to twenty seconds.
Telling It What the Client Plans to Do
Two questions sharpen the note without you touching a sentence yourself: how long the client expects to hold this mortgage (to maturity, may move, or may refinance), and whether they expect to draw on their home equity during the term.
Left unanswered, every product mechanic weighs the same. Answering either question re-weights what leads the note: a break penalty is barely worth mentioning to someone holding to maturity, and it is the whole story for someone who might move.
Filling the Gaps It Cannot Source
Deal Defender researches six product mechanics off a lender's own published documents: prepayment privileges, when prepayment room resets, how the break penalty is calculated, portability, mid-term refinance handling, and whether a rate discount is clawed back into the penalty.
For a lender or product it holds no research for, it asks rather than staying quiet. Each option lists which mechanics went unanswered, so you can fill them in yourself off the commitment letter in front of you. An answer you type carries your own attribution in the note, marked as broker-stated rather than sourced from a lender document, and feeds the next Regenerate.
Editing the Note and Checking Its Evidence
Every paragraph is real text you can rewrite or delete. Nothing is overwritten unless you click Regenerate; a paragraph you have edited gets a Revert control to put back what generation originally wrote.
Save the strategy analysis to keep the note. The sections you keep only bank as time saved once they survive a save, not on generation itself, so excluding every point or switching the section off before saving earns nothing. Preview & export from the strategy toolbar carries the note into the client-facing report, painted in your brokerage's branding.
What to Do Next
Once the note is written, use Preview & export on the strategy toolbar to send it. Working from a deal that is already at the lender package stage? Read the Analysis tab for the same package attached to that deal.
