Once a penalty is estimated, BrokerPlus ranks every lender and term on today's rate feed against it, so you can see in one view whether breaking and switching actually leaves the client ahead of staying put.
How the Best Option Is Picked
Every lender and term on the current rate feed is priced against the client's balance, contract rate and remaining term, penalty included, and the option with the highest net savings becomes the Best Option shown above the fold. This runs automatically the moment a result exists; there is nothing to configure to see it.
Reading Net Savings
Net savings is the interest saved by switching over the client's remaining term, minus the penalty it costs to get there. A result that clears zero is a candidate worth raising with the client; one that does not is a reason to hold. The card also breaks out interest savings, payment savings and the difference in balance at the end of the term, so a client asking why the payment changed or why the balance moved has more than one number to look at.
Penalty Financed Against Paid Up Front
Toggle between financing the penalty into the new mortgage and paying it out of pocket. Financing it rolls the penalty into the new balance, which lowers the immediate cash cost but raises the ending balance and shaves a little off net savings over the term; paying it up front does the reverse. Neither choice changes the penalty itself, only how the client absorbs it, and the cumulative savings chart below the toggle updates to match whichever mode is selected.
Pinning a Different Lender or Term
The Best Option is a recommendation, not the only option. Other Options lists every other lender and term from the same rate feed, each with its own net savings, so you can hand-pick the one you actually intend to place the deal with. Pinning a different lender or term replaces the Best Option card with your pick and keeps it there while you adjust other inputs, and can be unpinned to fall back to the automatic recommendation at any time.
Which Lenders Are Left Out
A lender you archive on the Manage the Rates Page grid is excluded from both the Best Option recommendation and every Other Options row, on every calculation you run, until you bring it back. This is a per-broker setting, not a per-calculation one, so it is worth checking that grid if a lender you expect to see is missing here. It exists for lenders you never place with, so the comparison stays limited to real options rather than every name on the feed.
