Folders are the one piece of your inbox BrokerPlus does not own. They belong to your connected mailbox, so what you see here is a mirror of the same structure Gmail or Outlook already has, and filing a thread into one changes it there too.

5:12Where Your Folders Come From
Your folders sync in from your provider on the connection's regular schedule. BrokerPlus never invents one on your behalf, so a brand-new mailbox with no custom folders shows none here until you add one in Gmail or Outlook and it syncs across. Delete a folder in your provider and it stops being offered here on the next sync, along with anything that was only filed into it.
Open the Folders Rail
Click the folders icon beside the list to slide out the rail on the right. It shows your folders as a tree, nested the same way your provider nests them, and closes with the same icon, the Escape key, or its own close button.
Drag Threads Into a Folder
Drag one selected thread, or a whole run you have checked off, onto a row in the rail to file it there. You can also right-click a thread for the same folder picker without opening the rail. A Gmail thread can sit in more than one folder at once; an Outlook or IMAP thread can only be in one, so filing it into a second folder moves it out of the first.
Filing does not triage
Putting a thread in a folder does not mark it done, star it, or remove it from your inbox view. See Triage Your Inbox for the actions that do.
Filter the List to One Folder
Selecting a folder in the rail filters your thread list down to whatever is filed in it, the same way choosing a tag or searching does. Clear the selection to go back to seeing everything, and your choice of folder combines with any tag, mailbox, or search you already had set.
Folders Against Done and Tags
Folders, done, and tags each answer a different question and none of them move the others. Marking a thread done or starring it is a BrokerPlus-only state that never reaches your mailbox, and the tags on a message are BrokerPlus's own layer on top of it. A thread can be filed in a folder, carry a tag, and sit in Done all at the same time, and clearing one of those never clears the other two.
