A snippet is a short code that expands into a full paragraph, or more, wherever you type it in an email. Save the wording you retype often, rate disclosures, next-steps, a standard greeting, once, and pull it into any message with a few characters instead of writing it out again.
What a Snippet Is
Every snippet has a shortcut (the code you type to expand it), a name (so you recognize it in the list), and a body that can hold formatting, images and file attachments. Snippets are saved to your own library, or shared with your team, and are available from any composer: a reply, a forward, or a fresh message.
Create a Snippet
Open the snippets manager and choose New snippet. Pick a shortcut using only letters, numbers, dashes and underscores, give it a name, and write the body in the same rich editor you compose in. A shortcut already taken by another snippet is refused, so pick something distinct enough not to collide. You can also start a snippet already carrying text: save one straight from a paragraph you just wrote in a reply, rather than retyping it into the manager.
Expand One as You Type
Inside any composer, type a shortcut preceded by a slash, /hello for example, followed by a space, and it expands to the saved text in place. This works while replying, forwarding, or writing a new message from the compose window. If you cannot recall the exact code, the snippets manager lists every shortcut alongside a preview of its text.
Attach a File to a Snippet
A snippet can carry its own attachments, up to ten files, fetched and added to the message automatically when the snippet expands. Add files while creating or editing a snippet in the manager, or save a file directly off a message you're reading: the bookmark button beside an attachment turns it into a new snippet in one step, so a document you send often (a rate sheet, a checklist) rides along with a shortcut rather than a fresh upload each time.
Snippets Against Templates
Snippets and templates solve different problems and are not the same system. A snippet is a block of text you personally reach for while writing, no structure beyond the words themselves, expanded on demand by whoever composes the message. A template is part of a larger automation, built to run outreach on a schedule or in response to an event, the kind used for Pulse and opportunity outreach elsewhere in BrokerPlus. If you are typing an email yourself and want to stop retyping a paragraph, that is a snippet. If you want BrokerPlus to send scheduled or triggered messages on your behalf, that is a template, and it lives with the automation that sends it rather than in your snippet library.
