Wherever you are in BrokerPlus, a new message can pop a small card in the corner the moment it lands in your mailbox. It is a screen convenience layered on top of your inbox, not a second copy of it, so it is worth knowing exactly what it does and does not touch.
What the Alert Shows
The card names the sender, the subject or a short preview, and the deal it is already linked to if there is one. Click it and you go straight to that thread in the inbox; dismiss it and it is gone. It only pops for mail that landed in a mailbox that is yours - a Team inbox is shared by design rather than one broker's personal news, so it never pops for anyone, whatever your own setting says.
Turn It Off
The switch lives under Notifications in settings, on the On-screen alerts card, as Show new email on screen. It is personal to you: it is saved to your account rather than a browser, so switching it off on your laptop keeps it off on the desk machine too. It ships on, on the reasoning that this is how BrokerPlus tells you a client just reached you, and a broker who has never opened settings should still hear about that.
Why It Fires Before a Tag Appears
The pop fires the moment mail is ingested, before BrokerPlus has classified it. That is deliberate: the point of the alert is that you learn mail arrived right away, and waiting for triage to finish would trade that immediacy for a quieter screen. So it is entirely normal to see a card pop for a message that a moment later gets tagged Spam, or filed onto a different deal than the one the card first showed. The alert is telling you mail arrived, not vouching for where it ends up.
It Changes Nothing About What Is Sent
This switch only decides what shows up on your own screen. Whether you leave it on or off, nothing about how mail is sent, synced, filed, or shared changes in the slightest - the same message reaches the same inbox, gets the same tags, and stays visible to any teammate your mailbox sharing settings already permit. Turning the alert off does not quiet your mailbox; it just means you find out by opening the inbox rather than by a card appearing in the corner. Turning it on does not add a step to sending or receiving anything either - it reads an event that already happened and shows it to you a few seconds sooner.
Calls and Texts Have Their Own Switch
A ringing line and an inbound text pop the same kind of card, but through a separate switch: Show calls and texts on screen, right beside the email one.
