A campaign is one message, written once, sent to a whole group of clients - an email or a text, going out under your own sender identity. The composer walks you through three steps: who receives it, what it says, and when it goes.
Choosing the Audience First
Pick a channel, email or text, then a saved segment. The audience comes first on purpose: the composer resolves the segment to a real number, matched minus suppressed, so you write to a known group. No segment yet? Build one without leaving the composer.
Writing the Message
An email campaign takes a subject, an optional preheader and a body, with a live inbox and message preview beside it. A text campaign gets a plain message box and a phone-style preview. A deliverability coach flags things like an all-caps subject or a spammy phrase as you write - advisory only, it never blocks a send.
Personalizing Each Message
The subject, preheader and body can carry variables that fill in per person. Use the variable picker, or type one like {{borrower.firstName|there}}. The word after the bar is the fallback, sent when a contact has no first name on file.
- Recipient: first name, nickname, last name, full name. Each needs a fallback before the campaign can send.
- You: first name, full name, email, phone, title and booking link, from your profile.
- Other: brokerage name and today's date.
Mortgage and deal details aren't offered, because most contacts in a segment have none on file. If you use one of your own details without a fallback and your profile doesn't have it, the campaign stops before anyone is emailed and names the detail to fill in.
Who Is Left Out Automatically
Every send checks two things. Consent: a campaign is a commercial message, so it respects the client's marketing consent and the account-wide "stop everything" choice - a client in your own book with no consent on file counts as implied consent unless they've opted out. Suppression: anyone who hard-bounced, complained or was manually suppressed is excluded on every channel. Neither check touches your equity report list, which is a separate consent category.
Spreading the Send Over Days
A big audience doesn't go out as one burst. The composer suggests a send window based on audience size, and you can change it. If bounces, suppressions or unsubscribes climb too fast, the campaign pauses itself for you to review; resume it once you've had a look.
Following Up With People Who Don't Reply
The composer's Follow-ups step lets you write up to three nudges that go out days later, only to people who haven't replied. See Add Follow-ups to a Campaign.
Sending or Scheduling It
The review step reads back who, what and when before you commit. Send now, or schedule it, optionally repeating so each occurrence goes to whoever is in the segment that day. Not ready yet? Save Draft keeps it under Drafts; open the draft and choose Open in Composer to finish it.
What to Do Next
- Build a Segment to have a real audience ready before you open the composer.
- Set Your Sender Identity so email campaigns aren't blocked at send time.
- Add Follow-ups to a Campaign to reach the people who didn't answer the first time.
- Read how to check a campaign's results in Read a Campaign's Results.
