A lead form facing the public web draws bots and repeat submissions along with real inquiries. These checks are about data quality, not permission - they are unrelated to the subscribe box that records marketing consent, and most of them sit under the form's Spam Protection settings.
The Bot Check That Is Always On
One check runs on every submission whether you touch a setting or not, and there is no switch to find for it - an Always on badge is the only sign it's there. It scores a submission before BrokerPlus ever sees it, and one built by a script rather than typed by a person is refused outright, before it can reach your leads.
The Hidden Trap Field
Switch on Hidden trap field and the form carries a question a real visitor never sees and can't reach by tabbing through, but a script filling in every field blindly still finds. Submit with it filled in and BrokerPlus does not reject the request or say anything went wrong - the page reports an ordinary success, and nothing is saved behind it. No lead is created, no contact is added, and there's nothing left for you to clean up afterward.
Business Addresses Only
Turn on Business addresses only and BrokerPlus checks the submitted email's domain against a short list of well-known free providers - the likes of Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail - and turns away anything on that list with a message asking for a work address instead. The list stays deliberately short: widen it and it starts turning away real buyers who happen to write in from a personal account.
When the Same Person Submits Twice
A repeat submission is matched on email address alone, with no limit on how long ago the first one came in. When the same person submits twice decides what happens next, and folding the new submission into the existing lead is what happens either way - the count of submissions goes up, but the automation that fires on a brand new lead does not fire again for someone already in your book. The second option folds it in the same way and adds a Duplicate tag, so you can spot at a glance that it happened. There is no setting that creates a second lead for a repeat submission - BrokerPlus keeps exactly one live lead per person, and this is where that rule shows itself.
