A client reading their own equity report can type in a corrected mortgage balance, property value, or address. What happens to that edit next depends on two switches you control, one of which a locked file overrides no matter how you have set it.
Where Corrections Appear
A pending correction shows up wherever you would look for it: once on the Reports view, listing every deal with one waiting, and again on that deal's own page. The card names what changed, what the old and new figures were, and how long ago it happened. A correction on a deal whose client data is locked to its own broker carries a lock badge, so you know at a glance why it is still sitting there.
Accepting Against Declining
Accept writes the client's number straight onto the deal, the same write an automatic sync would have made. Decline keeps your figure and records that the client disagreed.
While a correction waits, the client's own copy of the report already reflects what they typed, so it keeps agreeing with itself without touching your file or any other report. Decline undoes that: their view snaps back to your number, so a client who checks again sees the correction did not stick.
Accepting an address change rewrites the property on the deal, clears its cached valuation and history, since those numbers described the old house, and fetches a fresh estimate for the new one. If the corrected address matches a co-applicant's own home address exactly, down to the city, that address updates too. Accepting a balance change also carries to any other deal that lists the same mortgage as a debt, so the two files keep agreeing.
Applying Corrections Automatically
Apply client corrections automatically, on the Change Alerts settings page, writes a client's edit straight onto the deal the moment they submit it, with no queue at all. Leave it off and every edit waits here for you to accept or decline.
When a Deal's Client Data Is Locked
A deal with locked client data always waits for a person, whatever the automatic-correction switch says, and only that deal's own broker can accept the correction. Anyone who can see the queue can still decline one, since declining changes nothing on the deal itself.
Being Emailed Only About Big Changes
Every correction lands in your notifications regardless of size. Only one at or above the dollar threshold set on the same settings page also emails you, so a client nudging their valuation by a few hundred dollars stays quiet at inbox volume. An address change has no dollar figure to measure, so it always emails.
