A brokerage sets one default brand. A team inside it can paint over any piece of that default with its own colours, fonts or logo, and leave the rest alone. What it leaves alone keeps following the brokerage, today and after every future change.
Switching Between Team and Brokerage
An admin at a brokerage with more than one team sees a toggle in Canvas between Your team and Brokerage default, and edits whichever one is selected. A team's own broker, who isn't an admin, only ever edits their own team's brand and never sees the brokerage-wide option, there's nothing to toggle to.
What an Override Stores
Setting a colour, a font or a logo while editing a team writes only that one token onto the team's own settings. Everything you haven't touched is simply absent there, not copied, not filled in with the brokerage's current value. Absence is what makes the difference: a token the team never set inherits the brokerage's value today, and picks up whatever the brokerage changes it to next month, automatically.
Handing a Token Back to the Brokerage
Every overridden field in Canvas carries a small "use brokerage" control next to it. Selecting it removes that one token from the team's settings entirely, rather than writing in the brokerage's current value. The two look identical for a moment, but only the first keeps tracking future brokerage changes.
Who Can Change a Team's Brand
The brokerage default is an admin's to set. A team's own brand goes out under its broker's licence, so only that team's designated broker can change it, another member of the same team can see the team's brand but can't edit it, and an admin can't reach in and edit it on the broker's behalf either.
Which Brand a Client Actually Gets
Anything a client sees from that team's deals, bookings or lead forms paints from the team's overrides layered on top of the brokerage default, never the brokerage default alone once a team has set something of its own.
Common Gotchas
Never type the brokerage's current colour, font or logo into a team's own field just to match it. That value looks identical to inheriting it, but it's stored as the team's own answer, so the next time the brokerage changes that colour or font, this team quietly stops following along, and nobody notices until a client's document looks out of date. Leave a token alone if you actually want the team to keep tracking the brokerage, and only set it when the team genuinely wants something different.
