Decide Where a Lead's Answers Land

Map each answer onto your book, and tag what comes in.

Open Lead Forms in BrokerPlus

Capturing an enquiry is only half the job - what matters just as much is where each answer ends up. A question can file straight onto the contact, the lead, the property or the mortgage, and the whole submission can pick up tags and a starting stage on its way in.

Mapping a Question to Your Book

Select a question and open File the Answer Under. Choose Nowhere to leave it showing only on the lead itself, or pick a target on the Contact, the Lead, the Property, or the Mortgage - first name, email, loan purpose, timeline, property address, mortgage balance, rate, lender, term, and more. A mapped answer files itself the moment the lead is captured; there's no manual step to file it later, and an answer left at Nowhere still shows on the lead, it just doesn't touch a book field.

Which Types Fit Which Field

The list only offers targets your question's answer type can actually fill - a maturity date needs a date question, a mortgage balance needs money or a number, a lender name needs the lender field or plain text. Change a question's type and a target that no longer fits is dropped rather than left silently wrong. First name and email are the two that must be mapped on every form: they're what turns a submission into a lead BrokerPlus can follow up with, so the editor won't let you point them at Nowhere or hide them behind a branch.

Tags Every Submission Gets

Under Tagging, add the tags every lead from this form should carry - up to twelve. These apply to every submission regardless of what was answered, so use them for what the form itself tells you: where it sits, what it's for, which campaign sent them.

Tagging on a Particular Answer

Add a rule for a tag that should only apply on a specific answer: pick a question with a fixed set of answers - a pick-one, pick-many, or yes/no - name the value, and the tag to add when it matches. A lead who says they already have an offer in, or that they're self-employed, can carry a tag the standing list never would. Rules only offer questions with a closed answer set, since a rule has to compare against a value it can actually match.

The Stage a New Lead Starts In

Choose which stage a lead from this form drops into from Drop It Into, or leave it on Your Default Stage to use whatever stage new leads land in generally. This runs once, when the lead is created - moving it afterwards works the same as moving any other lead on your board.
