Once your brokerage has connected Velocity or Finmo, a single deal still has to be sent onto that rail, and a link to a rail is something you read and manage from the deal itself rather than from Settings.
What Pushing a Deal Does
A deal not yet on a rail shows a Push to Velocity or Push to Finmo button near the top. Pressing it opens a dialog naming what leaves BrokerPlus, what happens next, and what you can and cannot take back before anything is sent. Sending a deal to Velocity creates it there and hands Velocity the file going forward - BrokerPlus stops sending that deal to a lender, and because Velocity cannot update a deal it already holds, only what is listed at that moment ever reaches it. Sending to Finmo does the same, except the two keep each other current from then on.
Pushing a New Deal Against Adopting an Imported One
If the deal in front of you was imported from Finmo, the button reads differently: it reconciles your BrokerPlus record against the Finmo application already there and asks you to settle anything that disagrees before writing your values across. Velocity cannot be adopted this way - it has no update endpoint - so pushing a deal originally imported from Velocity creates a second, brand new record there rather than touching the one it came from. The dialog says so before you confirm, since that is not what a button labelled "Push" would suggest.
Reading the Sync Control on the Header
A linked deal carries a pill in its header saying which way the file mirrors: Reading in for a deal that arrives from Velocity or came in from Finmo, or Syncing both ways for one you pushed to Finmo. It names the rail instead when the deal carries several links on the same system, and reads 2 systems when it is linked to both. A count beside it means something needs you: changes waiting to be sent, or fields that differ between the two records. Opening it lists each live link with its freshness, a refresh button, pause/resume, and detach.
Settling a Difference Between the Two Records
Two kinds of question appear under a link. One is a change ready to send, waiting on your confirmation before it leaves. The other is a field that has drifted apart because you or someone else edited it in both places. For each, you can send what BrokerPlus has, keep the other system's value, or dismiss it - nothing resolves itself, since a mirror that picks silently is one that can revert a rate overnight. A field with no way back, on a read-only rail like Velocity, says so rather than offering a button that would do nothing.
The Lender's Notes From Velocity
A Velocity handoff panel appears once a deal has been sent, and lists anything Velocity did not accept or may have shortened, so you know what to check there by hand. A separate, collapsed notes section shows Velocity's own notes on the loan once you refresh the link.
Pausing, Refreshing, or Detaching the Link
Refresh reads the deal again right away. Pause holds that one link without losing it. Detach stops BrokerPlus following the deal at all - nothing already sent is undone.
Why an Imported Velocity Deal Is Copied, Not Updated
Because Velocity offers no update path, a deal that started life there and is later pushed again becomes two records: the one you imported stays as history, and a fresh copy carries what you push.
