The advanced view opens your whole book as one spreadsheet, grouped by closing year and month instead of by board stage - the shape of the trackers many brokerages ran before BrokerPlus, with the same left-to-right reading order: who the file is, what the workflow has cleared, the mortgage terms, then the money.
Switching to the Advanced View
On the deals page, open the view toggle beside Board and List and choose Advanced. The grid replaces the board or table for that board; switching back is the same toggle. An old bookmark to /deals/advanced still lands here - it selects the advanced view for your last board, then hands you off to the regular deals page.
Choosing Which Closing Years Load
The grid loads by closing year rather than paging like the board does. Open Advanced view settings from the more-options menu and tick which of the last eight years to load under Closing year. At least one year has to stay ticked. A deal with no closing date always loads regardless of which years you've picked, since it's exactly the file you're chasing a date for. Loading too many years at once, past roughly 5,000 deals, is refused outright rather than quietly cut off - narrow the years and try again.
Reading the Year and Month Bands
Deals group under a year band, then a month band within it, newest first. The current year opens expanded; earlier years and the undated bucket start collapsed. Press a band's chevron to expand or collapse it, and each band's header shows how many deals it holds and their combined mortgage amount. A deal without a closing date sits in a "No closing date" bucket at the bottom of the year it was last touched.
Ticking Yes, No, or Not Set on a Checkpoint
Each checkpoint column is one step from your team's mortgage process checklist. Press a cell to open a menu with three choices - Yes, No, and Not set - rather than a click that cycles between them, because marking Yes can complete a checklist group, move the deal's stage, and fire that stage's automations, up to and including a message to the borrower. Picking a state directly means you're never one accidental click from sending one.
Editing a Cell in Place
A cell with somewhere to save to is editable: double-click it, or select it and press Enter, to open the editor with the old value already selected so typing replaces it, spreadsheet-style. Enter or Tab commits and moves to the next cell; Escape reverts without saving. A commission cell you don't have visibility into shows as a dash rather than blank, so it reads as hidden rather than empty.
Hiding, Reordering, and Colouring Columns
Drag a column header to reorder it, or open Advanced view settings to untick columns you don't use and reorder the whole list at once. The same panel sets Your colour - the tint and left-edge rule shown on every deal you own, so the rest of your team can see who's carrying which file at a glance.
What to Do Next
- Build the Mortgage Process Checklist to set up the checkpoint columns the grid ticks against.
- Record Commission on a Deal to fill in the commission figures the grid edits in place.
- Work Deals on the Board to move a file between the grid and the board.
