A deal tag is a short coloured label you invent yourself and stick on any file - "Priority", "Referral", "Rush" - separate from the stage a deal sits in and the type it was opened as. Tags live at the brokerage level, so a tag a teammate creates is there for you to apply too, and filtering a board by one shows every deal carrying it, whoever tagged it.

8:13Creating and Colouring a Tag
Open the tag picker on any deal - the dashed Add tag button under the deal name, or Tags on the deal record - and press Create a tag. Type a name, pick a colour from the preset swatches or a custom one, then Add. The tag is created and applied to that deal in one step. A name can only be used once per brokerage; BrokerPlus tells you inline if it's taken.
Colour is decoration, not meaning: BrokerPlus always shows a tag's name beside its dot, never colour alone, so two brokers reading a card in grayscale or with colour blindness still see the same label.
Applying a Tag to a Deal
From the deal record or a board card, press Add tag - or the dashed Tag button once a deal already carries one - to open the picker. Search or scroll the list and press a row to toggle the tag on or off the deal; there is no separate save step. Removing a tag works the same way, or press the x on the chip directly. Every add and remove writes to the deal's audit trail.
Filtering a Board by Tag
Open Filters on the board and pick one or more tags. A deal matches if it carries any of the tags you have selected, so choosing a second tag widens the board rather than narrowing it further. Clear the tag filter from the same panel, or use Clear all on the chip row to reset everything at once. A tag filter can be saved as part of a saved view so you can jump back to "Priority, this board" in one click.
Renaming or Archiving a Tag
Open Manage tags from the board's more-options menu to see every tag your brokerage has created. Hover a row to rename it or archive it. Archiving removes the tag from every deal it is currently on, and there is no way to bring those assignments back - only the tag itself - so archive a tag you are retiring rather than one you might want again tomorrow. An archived tag's name is freed for reuse: creating a new tag with the same name revives the archived one under its old id instead of blocking on a duplicate.
