Submission settings are the standards every lender package in your brokerage is built to. Every member can read them; an admin changes them.
Opening Submission Settings
Open a deal, go to Submissions, and select Submission Settings. The window has three tabs: Underwriting, Cover Page, and Document Naming.
Including a Written Underwriter Note
On Underwriting, the first switch is Include a Written Underwriter Note. On, BrokerPlus writes a note to the underwriter from the deal and prints it on the cover page. Off, no note is written. The cover page still goes out if it is on.
Including a Cover Page
On Cover Page, the first switch is Include a Cover Page. On, the package opens on a branded page with the deal details, your standing opening, the note, and a numbered list of the enclosed documents. Off, no cover page is sent, including one your team uploaded. If the note is on, it goes out on its own page instead.
The two switches are independent: keep the note and drop the page, keep the page and drop the note, or turn both off to send the documents and nothing else.
Turning a switch off keeps your settings
Your standing opening and an uploaded cover page are kept while the cover page is off. Turn it back on and they apply again.
Your Standing Opening and Your Own Cover Page
Below the switch, the text box is your standing opening: a line printed at the top of every cover page exactly as you type it, for what is true on every file, such as who the submission is from and where questions go. Use Your Own Cover Page takes a PDF that is sent as the first page instead of the page BrokerPlus writes. Nothing is added to it, so everything an underwriter needs has to be on it. Only the team's broker can change it. The preview shows the page a lender receives.
Example Notes
Example Notes holds up to ten underwriter notes you have sent and were happy with. The underwriter note is the note that opens a lender package, and it is the first thing the underwriter reads. Select Add an Example Note and paste the note exactly as you sent it. BrokerPlus writes in the same shape and voice. Names and figures always come from the deal in front of it, never from an example.
What Do You Want Us to Know?
What Do You Want Us to Know? is your standing instructions for every note: what to always mention, what never to say, and how formal to be. Write it the way you would tell a new agent, then select Save Instructions. An instruction shapes how the note is written. It does not add a fact the deal cannot support.
Your old rules are kept
If your brokerage wrote its own rules or wording into the earlier rule list, that text is moved into this box the first time an admin opens the settings. Nothing you wrote is lost.
Testing the Note
Select Test the Note to see the note BrokerPlus writes from the settings above, including changes you have not saved yet. If you opened the settings from a deal, the note is written against that deal. Otherwise it is written against a sample refinance. The note appears under the button exactly as a package would print it, with the same numbered citations under each cited passage. If a payout statement on the deal has not been reviewed yet, a notice above the note names the file. Select Copy to copy it, or Write It Again for another version. Nothing is sent or saved.
Document Naming
Document Naming sets how each file in the package is named, from segments such as last name, document type, and date. A category can carry its own rule.
Verifying Documents Automatically
Verify documents automatically moves a document that passes every check straight to Verified. Off, every document waits in Received until a person moves it.
What to Do Next
- Manage Documents on a Deal to get the package's files into Verified
- Send a Submission once the package is built to your standards
